Only 45 miles north of St. Peters, O’Fallon & St Charles Missouri, our beautiful town of 400 people nestled on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi River just hosted an amazing weekend party we called Diva Day. It all got started with a breakfast party at the historic Elgin / Cottrell house of 1845.
Richard Cottrell prepared the house for everyone. As you can see he used a lot of silver and crystal on the table. Garden flowers were everywhere. Some people dressed in period dresses, which added to the fun of the event. The party was simply divine!
After a mimosa, or two, the morning party spilled onto the streets for a day of shopping and browsing in beautiful stores like the Clarksville Glassworks. Richard rushed over to open his shop, Richard’s Great Stuff, and the early bird shoppers were lined up to be the first to receive a free gift Diva bag from the Clarksville shop owners and local artisans.
The morning rush eventually settled into lunch, art demonstrations, and finally a local house tour and studio party at Mary O’s newly renovated studio at the old Grace Episcopal Church.
