The 2012 Pike County Fair is set to officially open on Tuesday, July 24 and will run through Saturday, July 28th. Events leading up to the opening, including an Archery Shoot, Gymkhana, Miss Pike County Fair Contest, Gospel Music, and 4-H and FFA Judging, will start on the preceding Sunday, July 22nd.
Concert entertainment on Saturday evening opens with Bill Whyte for the 7 p.m. show followed by The McClymonts at 8 p.m. and Tracy Lawrence for the 9 p.m. show.
In addition to the musical entertainment on Saturday on the Main Stage, new this year will be Bluegrass Music on Tuesday night.
There will be plenty of fun for everyone throughout the week including the every popular Rodeo, being held two nights this year, a Truck Pull and Tractor Pull on the Main Track and the Demolition Derby, always a crowd-pleaser.
In addition to the rodeo, the Horse Arena will also feature a Western Speed Horse Show, and Team Sorting. The Moto Cross Track will be buzzing with the Dirt Bike and Quad Races. The popular Lawnmower Derby will also return this year.
An added feature this year, the “Show-Me” Missouri State Chili Cook-off, coordinated by the Raintree Arts Council, will be held on Saturday of Fair Week.
